Okay so I’ve been super critical of the new Space Jam movie for the past five years when it was announced because of my obsession of the OG version and everything to do with it. After seeing the plot few months ago and watching the trailer that just dropped a few times I’ll definitely be watching it at least once, but I’m still not excited for it.
As obsessed I am with Bugs Bunny and the Looney Tunes, they aren’t relevant like they used to be in the 90s. I still watch the classic episodes everyday and would rather watch them over the new ones.
When the first movie came out I was already a huge Michael Jordan fan. With this, I’m not a Lebron fan. I don’t dislike him but I’m also not a fan of his, I respect him as one of the three greatest basketball players of all-time (But we know who the GOAT is…..). At the same time though, he’s the perfect current player to cast for this movie.
With saying all this, I have to realize and think to myself this isn’t a sequel, but rather more of a new generation version/a remake. What I will give major props on are the graphics and animation. This will look great visually on TV and IMAX!
I don’t mind the cast at all especially The Goon squad roster. Although, I do think Kawhi should’ve been on the team. They could’ve done so many cool things with his giant “Klaw” hands or something Terminator themed .
I also think Dwight Howard, Kevin Durant, and so many others I can’t think of on the top of my head should’ve been in it. I haven’t seen any Zendaya movies or tv shows, but I’ve heard great things about her and her personality seems fun so I’m excited to see her as Lola Bunny.
There were a ton of Easter Eggs in the trailer, so I’m looking forward to seeing how all of them play into the actual movie as a whole. If you didn’t catch all of them Warner Bros. dropped a video counting them.
Lastly, I’m looking forward to seeing who’ll be in charge of the soundtrack of the movie because the soundtrack of the first Space Jam is a classic, so I’m curious what tracks will be on here and how it will sound.
What do you guys think of the Space Jam remake? Will you be watching it? Are you excited for it? Let me know your thoughts!
